Flavourcoat

Phelan's  Flavourcoat is the name covering a range of Herbs & Spices drawn from all parts of the World, consisting of.

  • Smokey Barbecue,

  • Chinese,

  • Hot & Spicy

  • Schnitzel

  • Pepper Steak

  • Steakado

  • Southern Fry Chicken

The coatings are supplied in powder form, and when applied to uncooked pork, poultry and other meats, produce a moist and appetising appearance on the product surface.

Flavourcoats develop flavour on and in products, so that when cooked they combine the natural juices and flavour of the meat with spice and flavouring combinations, producing excellent flavour sensations and colourful visual appeal.

Application:

Hand coating is simply achieved by making a bed of Flavourcoat in a shallow tray, taking the chilled or ambient product and covering it completely with coating. After removing excess coating the product is then ready for placing on display trays or for pre-packing, where the moist appearance will develop within a few minutes, depending on product choice.

After hand or machine coating, any material left after production should be sieved to remove any lumps or contaminants, and then re-ragged, tied and tightly lidded in its container. These precautions will reduce the risk of hardening due to the hygroscopic nature of Flavourcoat.
